Hawaii (Big Island, Kauai, Maui or Oahu) has good diving year round, especially on the leeward sides.

Hawaii is also a great place to learn how to dive. Many local dive shops offer beginner scuba courses. After learning the basics in a short lesson, they will take you on an introductory dive to a pool or shallow part of the ocean. A deeper boat dive (up to 30 feet deep) might also be an option. Many dive shops also offer the PADI or NAUI open-water certification course if you have the time and decide you want to get certified.
